About the Image(s)

This yellow biplane flies over our house every evening in the summer. I think it probably takes tourists on a tour of the coastline. One evening, form my garden, I was able to catch it passing the moon with my iPhone 16Pro. I had to use the long end of the lens so the quality isn’t great. I added a couple of textures using the Distressed FX app.

A great shot of the plane and moon Robin. I wonder if it would be better without the border round the texture?   Posted: 08/07/2026 16:13:29

You did well to capture the biplane on your iPhone and to recognise that it was going to cross the moon. I am with Hazel re the texture the white box seems to contain the place, but perhaps that is what you intended. Is Distressed FX one of those phone apps?   Posted: 08/10/2026 16:40:26

Yes, Distressed FX is a phone app, but is available only on iPhones.   Posted: 08/11/2026 08:35:15

Thanks for the info, but I have a Samsung phone so not for me then.   Posted: 08/11/2026 10:06:41

Robin, Your overall effect reminds me of something under water. The blue and the waving lines on the right that look like reeds, sort of, add to the water sense. I would like to see the plane and moon larger in the image even if taken with the iPhone. As for me, that is the most interesting part of it. I do like the texture you have chosen for the background.   Posted: 08/15/2026 23:26:53

Robin, I really enjoy the feel of this image. Your work with the color, lighting and texture, balanced with a colorful subject is beautifully constructed. I have nothing to add.   Posted: 08/16/2026 19:08:11

I do agree with the others Robin, the texture and vibrant colours adds to the image. My only comment is to remove some of the very visible white lines, there are too many and are a bit distracting. Otherwise, nice concept.   Posted: 08/24/2026 10:57:37
