About the Image(s)
My image for this month is a composit of two images taken at the Mining
Museum in the Lake District. Therte were many old vehicles rusting into
the ground so I combine these two to give the impression that the rust
was enveloping everything and the landscape was becoming the rust and
the rusting crane becoming part of the landscape.

I always like using textures. It gives the image correct, but I am not sure where to look. Maybe the orange rust is too bright?   Posted: 07/08/2026 21:42:47
I agree Deborah that it is a bit over the top.   Posted: 07/10/2026 11:46:58

Well done Hazel. The two images have been well put together but I agree with Deborah to tone down the orange rust a little.   Posted: 07/09/2026 15:44:29
Yes, Angela. maybe it is a bit bright. I will try a bit of adjustment.   Posted: 07/10/2026 11:45:21
Good work Hazel, bur leave the rust just as it is in my humble opinion. Was this shot at Threlkeld Quarry?   Posted: 07/09/2026 18:34:42
Thanks for your comments Ian. Yes it was shot at Threlkeld Quarry. What an amazing place!   Posted: 07/10/2026 11:43:23
Hazel, You've done an amazing job integrating these two images. I like the color of the rust. For my taste it adds nice contrast and a welcome splash of color.   Posted: 07/10/2026 04:18:51
I used a blend mode to integrate the two images Brad but can't remember which one, Maybe 'multiply'. I think it is a bit too garish.   Posted: 07/10/2026 11:50:20
Hazel, This falls under the category of personal preference. I recommend looking at it again in a week and see how you feel when viewing it. I find people's feedback helpful and they also are personal preferences.   Posted: 07/10/2026 16:56:15
A good composite. I love the rust. I might try increasing the brightness of the machine, a little, and increasing its saturation to match the rust more.   Posted: 07/10/2026 09:54:10
Yes, that might balance it a bit better.   Posted: 07/10/2026 11:50:54
