About the Image(s)
The original was spotted in a shop window display. In Camera Raw I used denoise to reduce the reflections. Then in Photoshop used select subject to select the triangle then inverting and filling with grey at 50% opacity to create a background. Next moved to Topaz Studio 2 cycling through the Artistic presets settling on Swirly Strokes at 80% opacity.
Back in PS I tweaked saturation and added the border.

Ian,
First of all congratulations for your long article in the PSA Journal this moth. It was too long from me to read with my AMD but I enjoyed the photos very much.
This image of the triangle is quite beautiful, starting with the original. Changing the background works well and I like the slight reflection in the background under the triangle. Nice work.   Posted: 12/07/2025 20:09:55

Thankyou Joan. I hope other group members will also take time to read it as it will give them more background on my work than my Bio.   Posted: 12/11/2025 16:41:27
Ian, Welcome to the group and thanks for sharing this interesting image. I always find the hardest part for me is taking a good image and finding areas to explore. Your choices to expand the orange color and how you created radial movement followed by the glowing orange frame is a nice touch. As I stare at your image I can imagine a buddhist monk in the center glowing with radiant energy. As you will learn I tend to favor the surreal in my images. Looking forward to seeing what you bring to the group next month.   Posted: 12/08/2025 00:36:27

Hi Ian, I wondered where you had gone. Congratulations on your image in the new Members Showcase this month https://psadigital.org/.
I couldn't find the Journal entry. What month was it in?
This is a good example of your current work, IMO. What is it that captured your interest? What made you decide to remove the beautiful background in the original? Have fun in your new group.   Posted: 12/16/2025 14:44:04

Hi Ian, I can't seem to make up my mind which of your two images I like best. I do like the original and well captured as the depth of colours and how complementary each colour seem to work with the rest is just exquisite.
What the original has and is missing in the next is the illusion of the triangles fading into a vortex, almost like ending up in a black hole. So surreal. I must say the background of the original is best. There seems to be a small "cloud" on the left and if you could expand on that and create a larger cloud then in my humble opinion, I could say we would see a welcoming triangle in outer space. Well done.   Posted: 12/17/2025 10:34:33
