About the Image(s)

The farmer's market was quite colorful, but I prefer abstracts, so it got cut out, puppet warped, smudged, received two backgrounds, smudging, and vignette painting. And here is "Koi in Coral."

Melissa, I would have never guessed how this was created if not for your description. You've done a great job creating a unique piece of art.   Posted: 12/09/2024 23:21:10

Melissa, It matters not how an image is created. What matters more is that 'An image, is an image, is an image' no matter how it was produced. Your image is a myriad of colour, shape and pattern and for me, that is its strength. I like images (particularly abstracts) where you look at them and you haven't a clue what you're looking at; and for that reason, it draws you in and engages with you. Your contribution this month is one such image which I like very much. Given that it has ended up as an abstract, the black dot in the centre of the creation is so important as it provides not only a focus of attention but also a point within the image on which to rest the gaze as the eye flits around the frame. Your treatment has worked very well but I don't recognize 'puppet warped'. The overall colour scheme and texture lends itself to the interpretation of Koi Carp; hence your title. Well done.   Posted: 12/13/2024 14:14:48

I just love this image Melissa. It has such vibrance and movement. The colours are stunning and the eye on the 'fish' is such fun. The textures and vignette set off and enhance the shapes in the centre. Just lovely, great creativity!   Posted: 12/13/2024 20:21:09

Hi Melissa, I have a friend who does a lot of abstract work and through her I've learnt to appreciate the beauty of the artform. Your piece of work is really lovely and has a nice balance of complementary colours, various mixes of textures and shapes. The more lighter part being the off white acts in leading the viewer to the koi. I don't think I'm able to offer any constructive feedback on improvement. As others have said, well done.   Posted: 12/15/2024 06:09:49

Hi Melissa,
What fun. It seems impossible to get this image from the original, but well done.
