About the Image(s)
For May I have portrait of Lil Dan - a scuttled work boat. I have crazy setting for this because I guess I was shooting birds and came upon this and just shot out the window. I got excited I guess and did not change by settings cause that boat was sure not going anywhere. 150mm, f/9 1/8000 and ISO 11400. Wow .

Well taken, it has an air of mystery - what is going on? Positioning is fine, as is the exposure. I like the reeds in the foreground.   Posted: 05/13/2023 10:06:30

Catherine, this is a very striking image of Lil Dan. I have two thoughts, the first being to have more room on the left to imagine Lil moving to.
The second one is more difficult to solve: to me the soft grasses are a distraction. As you probably did not have a brush cutter at hand, perhaps you could close your aperture for more depth of field until the grasses become as sharp as the boat.
Nice work!

Hi Catherine, I'm sure Lil Dan has a story to tell, but he's keeping it to himself. As he is hiding in amongst the reeds, I think I would like to see the tops of the reed flowers too.   Posted: 05/24/2023 07:02:42
