Nice Sky! and I like the strong diagonal. I was intrigued by the suggestion to flip the image, I think it works better. Perhaps a border round the image would help when it is shown on DD as the foreground is kind of "lost".   Posted: 08/07/2026 19:54:58

Hey Elaine. I have to tell you how brave you were for going to Death Valley in August. I usually go in April. Your image is very nice. I did decide to try to remove the debate about the clouds on the right and if you should flip the image. I cropped in and added some texture and clarity. I ran it through ON1 NoNoise and, as posted by you, I think the image is very much a nice desert shot. I wonder if there was a bit too much sky at the top. I am not sure if it is because of the way we have to reduce images to post, but it seems like you might have a bit of a halo along the mountains, but again it may be because of how we have to reduce things to post. Very lovely sky Elaine - thank you for sharing. I also agree with the comments about the mountains. I like them as a silhouette, but my eye wants them to be just a little more prominent, but not much - just enough to balance against the weight of the sky.   Posted: 08/09/2026 19:06:39

I do also like to see more of the mountain with more light.
