There was a flower stroll in my town last month. I found this stem in front of a solid background and liked its shape. Taken with my Canon R5, RF 24-105 L, f/4, 1/800, ISO 400, hand held.

Hi Elaine, there is much to like about your simple photograph. No distracting background. Not in the middle of the frame. The stem has a gentle curve. The colours are subtle. Put it all together and you have a lovely shot, Well seen. Posted: 07/01/2026 09:10:14

Hi Elaine, welcome! This is a very nice nature shot. I like the off-center crop and the shape of the flower. It could be a little sharper, but maybe that's not necessary for this shot. Since it's not quite sharp, you could play around with various Lightroom presets to make it look painterly, blurred on purpose, etc. It would look good in Shari's house. Hahaha! Hey Elaine. I really like this image. I agree that this should be hung up. and the composition is great. The only question is, do you want it soft, or with more texture. I used Texture and Clarity (which is my middle name), just to show another take. I did not like it as much as yours. If you print it like you submitted it, it will be very good in your personal gallery. I kind of would have liked to see the original. Posted: 07/13/2026 20:04:21
