About the Image(s)

Something different this month. The camera Club had a workshop in Intentional Camera Movement. We pegged up some coloured wires that were about 1mm (1/16") in diameter and moved the camera on a 1 second shutter speed. It became addictive as each different image appeared on the back of the camera. Each image was different because of the different way the camera was moved. I have included "Space Snail" to show you a different image that I achieved using a set of different coloured wires. The images were put through DeNoise. In Lightroom I had a play with several sliders to enhance the effect. They included some vibrance, texture, dehaze, contrast and highlights.

This is a striking image. On my monitor there is a slight blue cast so the "white" lines aren't white. So being picky perhaps "red and blue" might fit better.
Also in this study group we have a black background and I think it would be better to have a thin border to show where the image stops but that's just me.
This workshop sounds like a wonderful idea - a good opportunity to try something different (and generate some abstract images). Also sounds like fun.   Posted: 04/04/2026 14:56:46

Thanks Andrew, I have made the blue into white now. It is amazing what you don't pick up in your own photographs!   Posted: 04/08/2026 01:28:09

Hi Julie, this is really interesting and different! Very cool. I thought for sure it was done by moving ribbons or smoke. The white looks like sheer fabric, too. It could be anything! And in any color! I think you can have a lot of fun with this project!   Posted: 04/04/2026 17:20:37

HI, Yes, it was a lot of fun. It is hard to believe that it is done with wires that are still. Have fun!   Posted: 04/08/2026 01:32:42

Thanks for sharing - these are very striking; I especially like the look you captured on the red and white one - it almost looks like sheer fabric flowing. I am inspired to give this a try   Posted: 04/06/2026 18:13:38

Hi,
Hope you have fun when you have a try. We did it at night with a black material background.   Posted: 04/08/2026 01:33:33

Hey Julie. Very nice. I have heard of this concept and I think I have made some "unintentional Camera Movement Shots. I am going to have to look into this. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 04/07/2026 23:53:59

Hi Don, yes this is something different. It was a lot of fun and quite addictive as I moved around changing the angle that I shot the wires from. Have fun!   Posted: 04/08/2026 01:34:39
