About the Image(s)
I took this image last week during a trip to Miami, Florida, in the tropics of Southeast USA. I went to Vizcaya Gardens and Museum, which is a 100 year old mansion. I couldn't get a good photo of the stairwell looking down since it was so dark down below, so I pointed the camera up towards the skylight. I did a lot of postprocessing, trying to lighten the steps towards the center of the image and darken the edges, in order to draw the eye into the center. I cropped out a light that was center right and which was throwing the lights and darks off balance on the right side, and removed a few spots/decorations. I used Topaz AI to denoise. I plan to submit this for my camera club's black and white competition. 1/60 sec, f5.0, ISO 12800.

I think this is a winner. I have always had a fascination of spiral staircases. I myself tried many times to take photograph of them and found lighting is problematic at times. Your photo is well centered and the lighting is balanced. The whole picture is very clean. I really like this. Thanks for sharing.   Posted: 12/11/2025 00:37:51
