About the Image(s)

These boats caught my eye. After cropping I used various sliders to lighten areas so that the reflections were stronger and the stones on the bottom could be seen.
What would you do differently?

Hey Julie, I like the composition of you image. I would change that with a crop. I did feel it needed a little DeNoise filter and I changed the temp. just a little and added texture and to make the water look wetter, some Clarity. I used a little vignette and some Vibrance, which I don't usually use. I found the rope going from the bow sort of distracting so I removed it. That one was a judgment call that later in the month I might have added back in. There is nothing wrong with your image, I just tried a few different things. Nice Image.   Posted: 10/04/2025 03:04:16

Hi Julie. I am just visiting from another room.
This is a lovely image and I really like it. I am not sure that I wouls change anything. It is "tack sharp" and beautifully exposed. You have followed all the rules. You have a foreground, middle ground and background. You have an odd number of boats in the foreground (something that photographers apparently like), but that stone breakwater/causeway worries me a little (and just being super picky).
It cuts the image in two and the right hand end of it leads my eye out of the image.
Maybe a hard crop and concentrate on just the boats might create a stronger image. Just a thought!
