About the Image(s)
At 3:30am, we went to Kawaguchiko lake to capture the reflection of Mt. Fuji. It was extremely windy the previous day; but the weather forecast is favorable for a calm night. I captured this photo around 4am and the wind started shortly after that: f4.0; ISO 800, 4 sec, 26mm. The picture was a little dark so I increased the exposure a bit. What do you think I can do to improve it?

You certainly were determined to get the shot! Nice image of the mountain with the reflections in the still lake. I am not sure about the grass foreground, and for me the gated staging isn't very attractive. Perhaps a shot from the left or right might have worked better?   Posted: 12/19/2024 21:41:14

Thanks for the comment. I have other shots without the "staging" stuff, but it looks like other clean Mt Fuji shots, a bit boring. Haha..   Posted: 12/21/2024 05:39:41

Hi Ling Ling, this is beautiful! 3:30AM! Wow! I had no idea this was taken before dawn. Can you brighten the reflection a little, and especially the reflection of the snow? I like how the pier leads your eye towards Mt. Fuji, but would you be able to remove the gate part of the pier? I like the grass in the foreground. You could trim off a bit from the top if you wanted, but it's also fine as it is. Maybe darken the bright areas on the left side a bit? The whole image looks pretty sharp. I like the reflection of the city lights in the water. Everything looks very peaceful.   Posted: 12/21/2024 05:59:54

Hi, Janice,
I tried to follow your suggestions. This is what I get. I am not sure how to brighten more of the reflection of the snow without risking the whole area turning white.
BTW, Andrew and I found out why my pictures were not very sharp. I used email to send photos which evidently reduced the photo size to minimal. By using cloud drive to send him photos solves that problem.   Posted: 12/21/2024 20:40:53
