Our camera club had a "restricted theme" (leading lines) competition. The backdrop was a box covered by a black cloth. I used incense behind the bowl to simulate the smoke effect
I use my Olympus pen-f the settings were f3.5 exp. 1/60sec and the ISO was 200

Cool shot. Nicely composed. I might have gone for brightening the white of the cup and the smoke bit to make it stand out but that's not a big criticism, more artistic preference. Posted: 07/18/2024 04:15:42
Very nice composition Delian and clever idea with the 'steam'.
I would crop a little slice off the top where the background appears to be gritty and the 'steam' becomes blotchy.

Very beautiful shot and great idea. Very creative. The incense stick of ed smoke and the black background create an ethereal and mystical effect. I also like the two chopsticks that create the leading lines to the center. Well done. Posted: 07/20/2024 18:02:03
Delian: Everything in this photo screams "creative". Love the balance of the various objects in the photo. I find the interaction of the smoke and the background especially engaging in how they compliment each other. I believe by eliminating the white horizontal part of the bowl, you would elevate the intrigue this photo projects to the viewer. Posted: 07/23/2024 22:05:36
