About the Image(s)
This is an Indian Roller landing on a plant in Pench National Forest in India, taken last month as part of a photo safari; one of a series of photos of this bird in flight. Basic processing??”exposure and cropping e.g.??”was done in Lightroom. It was then opened in Photoshop with layers used to darken the background. I burned a bit of the white on the bird’s wing to keep it from standing out so much. It was also denoised and sharpened through Topaz AI

This photograph captures an Indian roller with wings outstretched, showcasing an exceptional bird photography technique. The timing is impeccable, freezing the bird's dramatic wing display while maintaining remarkable sharpness in both the eye and feather details.
The exposure is expertly handled, preserving the rich blue tones and subtle whites without losing any highlights. The composition places the subject against a soft, neutral background that allows the bird's vibrant colors to shine truly.
This image masterfully blends technical precision with artistic vision, capturing both the bird's natural behavior and its stunning plumage in a single, perfectly timed frame. Great shot!   Posted: 04/17/2025 07:05:01

What a wonderful capture Bob. Your timing was certainly spot on with this photo. Lucky you! I certainly agree with Joseph and Yamuni comments. Additionally, the color of the bokeh background perfectly compliments the photo and gives the subject center stage.   Posted: 04/17/2025 16:15:21
Striking image of this bird! You caught him at the perfect moment when his wings are extended and show the beautiful pattern and various tones of blue. The image is sharp but perhaps it could be just a bit sharper for maximum effect. The lens choice is perfect for keeping the bird in focus and the background blurred.   Posted: 04/21/2025 03:23:45
