This photo was one of a series taken when our group visited an elementary school in Victoria Falls in late March. Generally, the kids were jostling each other to be in photographs. I had paid no attention to this photo until our club had a contest with a category for human emotion. It’s the usual combination of some cropping and running through Topaz AI for denoising and sharpening. I did clone out tree trunks on the left and right Nikon Z 7-2 NIKKOR Z 70-200mm ’2.8 VR at 86mm ISO 1250 f/2.8 1/800 sec.

This image depicts a warm and expressive human moment. It exudes simplicity and naturalness, but with a noticeable artistic touch. A little more investment in compositional correction (consider moving the subject to the sides according to the rule of thirds to create additional visual interest) could turn it into an even higher-level work.
