About the Image(s)
This photo was taken in Wedge Pond, Alberta when we visited Banff National Park at the end of September. The Fall colors were at their peak when we visited there, and the view was stunning and gorgeous. This photo was taken shortly after sunrise. To make the image more interesting, I found a location behind some beautiful aspen trees and created a frame using the aspen leaves as the foreground. This photo was created by blending two images together through focus stacking; aspen leaves frame the foreground, with a pond and mountains in the background. I need to use masking to blend the two photos together so that they are both in focus. Camera settings are Sony a7riii, Sigma 14-24mm, f/11, 24mm, 1/100 secs, ISO-200.

But I don't care for so many large leaves framing the scene. I would prefer none on top, and not so close to the ones on the bottom. This is a personal preference, how I would have shot it, not an absolute criticism.   Posted: 11/13/2024 22:30:01
I tried cropping this and vignetting it. In the vignetting, I quickly cloned out some leaves--if I were doing this otherwise, I would have spent more time
Cropped in brings out the mirroring and the great colors of the leaves.   Posted: 11/16/2024 20:30:04
- The contrast between the yellow and green and the blue sky creates a nice balance and draws the eye.
- The lighting is soft, probably around golden hour, which highlights the warm tones of the vegetation and the background.
- The nearby leaves may be a bit overly blurred. You could try shooting
with a wider depth of field to maintain better sharpness.
- The clouds could get a little more detail with the use of an ND filter or a light edit
to avoid overexposure.
Overall, this is an excellent shot with a lot of potential!   Posted: 11/30/2024 19:22:30
