About the Image(s)
This photo was captured during a barns and backroads trip through southwest Virginia. I wasn’t sure whether the tree was a red maple, but its vibrant color was so vibrant that I had to stop and take a photo. The image was processed in LR using basic global and local adjustments. In PS, the remove tool helped to eliminate a few wires and distractions. I also added a stroke in PS. A soft black glow was added in On1.

This is really an excellent fall image. All the colors are muted other than the large tree and the sky looks like an autumn sky should look and for me that adds a great deal to the image. The rust on the barn roof compliments the red of the tree. It may be subtle but the up angle of the road seems to lift the higher in the frame. The just seems to com together quite nicely. I might have tried a lower camera angle, maybe not quite Platypod level, but still lower.   Posted: 12/13/2025 19:50:46
Really a lovely autumn image, Barbara! The road and fence create leading lines to the tree, which is the star of the show. Just beautiful color in it.   Posted: 12/16/2025 21:14:54
what a beautiful scene. I love the road leading to the red tree. This is a typical scene here in VA. Very well done.
