I was in the process of preparing a program for a camera club on night photography landscapes when I came across this image that I took 3 years ago in Rocky Mountain National Park. This was taken on the East Inlet Trail at Big Meadows with Mt. Cairns looming in the distant background. The image was taken at approximately 10:30p.m. in August and the only light was the moon that was breaking through some clouds off to camera right and about 60 degrees above the horizon. The clouds shielding the moon sort of created a channel for the moonlight to flow across the meadow and create a bit or directional light. Sadly there is a little bit of light pollution visible in the horizon notch between the mountains in the center. The light comes from the town of Grand Lake.
