About the Image(s)
I came across this photo in my library from a few years back, but I can’t recall if it was taken at Craggy Gardens or Craggy Pinnacle along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Either way, the hike and the view were unforgettable - at least until a low-hanging cloud decided to sneak into the shot. It’s funny-I always dreamed of floating on a fluffy cloud when I was a child. I may not have been floating but standing inside one has to count for something.

Photographing fog on the Blue Ridge is one of my favorite things to do whenever I'm in that area. I love the evergreens wrapped in the fog. I like your version showing the depth and many ridges fading into the distance and there is just enough foreground to balance the image. However, for me, there is just too much space taken up by blank fog. I would rather see the fog used more of a frame especially since the fog mostly lacks that whispy look. I thus offer my crop suggestion below for your consideration.   Posted: 05/11/2025 12:58:28
I like you got some foreground interest and separated the mountains in the background. The blue hue gives a real sense of distance. For me, I think getting more contrast in the sky would help, and I agree with Larry's comment about the cloud on the right. Could you have waited for the cloud to pass a bit?   Posted: 05/12/2025 18:16:53
