About the Image(s)
Exif details: Nikon Z5, Nikkor 70-200 at 70 mm, ISO 160, f/20 for 1/125 sec., Manual.
Description: It’s a picture of a park in the evening. As it is clear that I wanted to capture of the ducks as they just had come out of the water. Added bonus was that this family of five members came close to the ducks to observe their movement. As a whole, I tried to show the coexistence of humans and ducks at this park.
I did some global edits in Lightroom and since the original photo was underexposed and did increase the exposure in the editing. I also adjusted the saturation.

I feel you have a nice peaceful scene but for me the geese are just overpowering. They are white and bright and there are so many that they draw all the attention, and that is saying a lot because of the person wearing a red jacket. Usually red captured the attention. There just seems to be too much clutter throughout the image, it is everywhere. There is the white cars on the left along with the half visible metal structure in the upper left corner. There there are all the white geese. Makes me think the geese should be the subject. The foreground on the right has those reflections of the people that add to the clutter. I think you might consider deciding exactly what you want the subject to be and then create a composition that clearly makes your selected subject the star of the show and everything else should either be eliminated or in some way be diminished so that the subject dominates.   Posted: 04/17/2025 18:47:15
I think you have two or three images here. The white car and person in a white coat do distract my eye. I applaud you for trying to tell a story. To my eye, the focus of interest of the group is the small boy, not the geese so perhaps waiting until the group focused on the geese would have been the story you were after.   Posted: 04/17/2025 23:52:19
Hi Gokul. This composition presents a challenge for me in establishing a clear focal point as the multiple elements compete for my attention. For me, there is no dominant subject. I like the idea of the story and intent behind the image, but the geese and family feel disconnected emotionally. The ducks appear distracted or resting, while the group is focused on each other. To strengthen the story, maybe a ducks's gaze directed toward the family and a mutual glance from the child or group at the duck would create visual interaction and the intended connection.   Posted: 04/18/2025 15:50:51
Thanks for all of your comments. I agree with all of your comments. In fact, I also think there are many subjects. Will do the edits.   Posted: 04/19/2025 21:20:56
