IR Model by Nelson Charette

July 2024 - IR Model

About the Image(s)

I shot a few models last week and thought I would try my Infrared camera for a few shots. I have a mode on my camera to shoot in monochrome high contrast, so I can see what my IR shots will look like. This image is as is out of camera, I only used Lightroom to export for the size. I used my Olympus EM1-Mark III 590nm converted camera and used the 14-42 kit lens. at 1/500 sec, f/5.6, ISO 1600.

Fascinating portrait. I have heard but not seen that tattoos are much more clear in infrared. This is a great example. How fun! Why does she have a halo around her head that is lighter?   Posted: 07/08/2024 18:09:54

It does that on my Monochrome filter on my camera, sometime I get different results, but I kind of liked it here.   Posted: 07/08/2024 19:24:16

A very interesting portrait Nelson. I agree with Lauren in that the halo has an effect on the overall image. As long as you are happy with it, that's the main thing. Well done.   Posted: 07/22/2024 08:04:30

Love the subject - what stories one could create with such accoutrements. I happen to like the halo effect.   Posted: 07/24/2024 00:18:06

The portrait is very well done. The piercings and tattoos suit well for the eerie IR looks of the model.   Posted: 07/24/2024 14:42:41
