About the Image(s)

The December IR pic has been photographed in the Southern Harbour of Helsinki on 10th October, 2025. We have the Baltic Herring Market every year in October. The fishermen come with their boats to sell their fish and other homemade products. Some traditional Baltic sailing ships are also taking part as floating restaurants. The popular tourist attraction, the Market Square is next to the waterfront. There are always a lot of people attending. The outer sides of the harbour are also busy ferry ports for the ships to Tallinn and Stockholm with several arrivals and departures every day. I decided to have an additional twist for this photo by taking it through the fountain/statue of Havis Amanda. A naked mermaid surrounder by sea lions spraying water. This monument is well well-known symbol of this particular area in Helsinki.
