About the Image(s)

This is an IR landscape from Costa Rica, from the cloud forest, in the mountains near San Ramon.
It was converted into monochrome using Silver Efex Pro and fine-tuned in Lightroom. ISO 1600, 50mm, f18, 1/80 sec. The IR cut through the foggy areas, but I am not particularly impressed with the results and would appreciate suggestions. Of course, I have the greenery in my mind.
Original below, processed attached.

This landscape is very interesting.
Actually I like the fact that the trees in front are not snow white. Perhaps some more contrast would be nice. Looking at the original picture I cannot help thinking that a color version of the photo could be even more interesting.   Posted: 02/07/2025 07:53:00

Pretty countryside. The curvy road is the interest. If you crop the bottom and the right side from the dip in the mountains, you will show off the subject better.   Posted: 02/07/2025 20:48:30

There are two elements that make for a very nice scene. one is that the foliage in the foreground is dark and is a great contrast with the rest of the foliage. The other is the road as the bridge draws the eye into the scene and the winding road up the side of the hill keeps the eye in the image. The composition is very good as is the conversion from IR to the final presentation.   Posted: 02/13/2025 20:34:17

I'm going to offer my thoughts Lauren, and please understand, they are just my thoughts. Is all the foliage in the foreground necessary for this image? Would the image be any less without it? Was there anything above the image area forbidding you from showing more of the sky? All I have done is crop it into a pano. None of my thoughts are intended to lessen your image, nor contradict any o comments from other group members. I'm just offering something different.   Posted: 02/16/2025 04:53:04
