About the Image(s)

The hydrangeas are just coming into their own, so it seemed like a good idea to use them in an image. The originals were selected and joined together as Smart Objects, then merged to create the background.
The merged layer was duplicated, and lower layer treated with Quad Pencil. The upper layer used Lighten mode, to bring back some of the detail. After stamping up and adjusting with Nik Viveza, the tulips were added.
Again, Smart Objects were used to select the blooms from the backgrounds, then arranged within the image. The tulips were merged in their own layer.
The whole image was merged and treated with Topaz Studio 2 Abstraction, then the tulips layer moved to the top and treated with Topaz Studio 2 critters at reduced opacity.
Stamped up again and added a slight vignette and there you have it.
Colour and Texture were what it was all about.

You have blended the blooms well to make a colourful image. For some reason the green stalks don't seem to go well with the flowers themselves, and I wonder if they are really needed? A small frame would set the whole image off well!
Nevertheless this is a beautiful creation.   Posted: 07/11/2024 07:15:13

Colour and texture galore. As always, your work process shines. My only suggestion would be to darken the front 2 tulips just a bit. Lots to see and enjoy, thanks for sharing.   Posted: 07/11/2024 14:22:16

Your colors work well together, Steve. The hydrangeas make a good background to highlight the tulips. The texture of the tulips is brought out nicely against the softer background.   Posted: 07/15/2024 23:13:52

I love how you combine the colors. I would include stem for the left side flower. For balance composition.   Posted: 07/26/2024 03:11:14

A well crafted expression. I don't think it needs any changes.   Posted: 07/29/2024 04:03:51
