About the Image(s)

My image this month is a composite of three stems of a fluffy weed. The original was treated with Nik silver effects, then two times with Studio 2 swirly strokes. Then puppet warp, warp and distort were used to give a more pleasing effect. Each of the second and third stems were treated again with Studio 2 swirly strokes. The second and third stem were added to the image, each in lighter color at 100% opacity. As the second and third stems were added to the image they were treated with warp, puppet warp, distort and transform scale to change the look and size. After the three stems were added to the image, sized and changed the image was treated with Studio 2 breaking through at reduced opacity. Then Nik silver effects Yellow 2 was added to give a more uniform color/tone. Some burning was used on the weed heads and stems A slight vignette was added, and the image was flipped horizontally.

I love every part of this. Your choice of sepia perfectly accents the natural feeling. If I changed anything it would be to angle the light rays slightly downward, and extend them further into the negative space.   Posted: 07/02/2024 16:27:29

Lovely image in it's simplicity. One to be proud of! A slightly larger frame the same hue as the feathers would capture the image well.   Posted: 07/11/2024 07:20:19

I really like this simple image of the fluffy weed. Nice and sharp, and an effective tonal range. The background "rays?" are interesting, but for me might work better coming up from the bottom right hand corner - making it a stronger, and more balanced composition. This image would also look very nice in a portrait position. BTW, amazing how you keep track of the detailed steps in your work process - care to share?   Posted: 07/11/2024 14:43:24

A superb image.
Your control of the layers and the treatments used have produced a beautiful image. I like the addition of the lighting and the choice of sepia works well. It would look good mounted.
