About the Image(s)
This month I discovered Adobe capture. I do have it on my phone, but for this image I used Photoshop on my pc. I extracted both the patterns to use as a background. There were tiny bits to the pattern that were distracting so I removed them.
I also extracted shapes to get the outline.
I finished it in ON1 to get a border.

Your post processing has made the image into bit of a charcoal drawing.
You can still make out the boat but are left wondering about the shapes in the boat? To my strange mind the person holding the lens looks as if they have a sack over their head with two eyes cut out!!
Perhaps use the healing tool and get rid of the black dots in the sky?   Posted: 07/02/2026 12:33:06

Angela, thanks for your comments.
I agree, the shapes in the boat are very abstract. But this was a learning experience. I rather liked the dots in the sky as for me, they add to the strange vibe.

Hi Sylvia, I have never used Adobe Capture, but since it sounds like AI when I googled it, thanks for trying it. We need to be open to trying new methods of processing, and hopefully adding our own ideas to the AI generation. As I understand it the image is then taken into Illustrator for more processing. Have you tried that too?
Your border makes it harder to submit a revision, but I cropped it out first, then cropped the reflection. I find the reflection just added chaos for me. I also added to the global temperature and tint. I like the hint of red in the sky in your version, and wanted a bit more. Nice work.   Posted: 07/05/2026 15:15:45

Thanks for you feedback and version.
Adobe capture uses ai but is not generative AI. It takes an image and in this case outlines it.
I do not have illustrator.
I will probably use the patterns it creates based on a photo as a background at some point. I also want to play with letting it pick a palette base on a photo.   Posted: 07/07/2026 00:45:36

Hi Sylvia. What a lovely artistic rendition. The bold lines and minimal tones give this image a timeless, illustrative quality while keeping the calm mood of the waterfront. Very well done!   Posted: 07/08/2026 08:28:32
This is a really nice bit of experimentation Sylvia. I like the mostly B/W with a blue cast. When I first looked at it, the people in the boat seemed to make the outcome kind of hard to discern, but when I read you liked the strange vibe, it wasn't really important that the viewer be able to discern everything. For some reason it reminded me of a spray painted mural on a building wall or something, so I decided to play a bit. I lightened the reflection a tad, added a rough pastels filter, and then a brick wall texture over everything at a reduced opacity. I like the black border and vignette you added. I haven't heard of Adobe Capture; gotta check it out. Thanks for the info. Well done.   Posted: 07/12/2026 19:57:26
