About the Image(s)

The scene is far too wide for my 24 mm wide angle lens. I have to capture series of portrait shots and used Photo merge in LR to make it panoramic. The result was far from being perfect. Severe Distortion was everywhere. I used Warp Tool in PS to re-cover all horizontal and vertical lines of the buildings. The night scape was shot in 2021. But the full moon was shot from the tallest building in Indonesia on October 7, 2025. I combine them to celebrate Auld Lang Syne 2025-2026.

I know this creation is far from being perfect. There are always room for improvements. Your reviews, comments and suggestions are most welcome.

Hi Frans, this is an amazing amount of work, and I think a spectacular result. Some of the left traffic flow needs a little clean up to match the right, but it is a beautiful composite and interesting to look about. Well done.   Posted: 12/07/2025 16:25:23

Excellent. I might have added slightly more contrast in the city lights behind the buildings. Other than that, I wouldn't change anything.   Posted: 12/12/2025 18:09:04

This is really beautiful Frans! And so appropriate for the New Year. I think all of your techniques worked very well; your technical expertise is clearly on display here. You said the night scape was shot in 2021, but your original is a daytime shot. Did you alter the daytime shot to look like it was taken at night? My only suggestion would be to lighten up the moon a bit to make it a little more luminous. I love the contrast you added from the original moon, but since it's very much the same color as the building under it, it might make it stand out more if it was brighter. Beautifully shot and processed.   Posted: 12/12/2025 21:42:54

Wow Frans! Awesome piece!I like so many things about this composite. The size and color of the moon is..unearthly. The geometry of the roundabout and the artery leading into it makes the scene feel so alive. I like the way the color of the moon matches that of the hotel - and I don't know why I do!
