About the Image(s)

Original 1 was taken from my concept studio last year in Jakarta. Original 2 was one of my old stock images. I prepared this composite last month to celebrate Christmas 2024. As usual, your comments are welcome!

Happy New Year, Frans
Well, well, well - no surprise, another gorgeous image.
Love everything about it - great subject and treatment.
Unfortunately there is one aspect, although small, that my eyes keep coming back to - her right ballet slipper looks like one of my snow boots! Notices it was in shade in the original. I'm not skilled enough to correct this, but you get the idea.   Posted: 01/09/2025 16:39:06

Hi Gunter. Thanks for your suggestion. You saw what I did not 'see'. That's what we need in photography. A friend that could help you improve.   Posted: 01/10/2025 17:16:59

Very striking creation with lots of colour and action. The violinist works well reversed horizontally. I hadn't noticed the slipper, but now I have I agree it looks clumpy. It should be easy to replace it by cloning from the one on the other foot!   Posted: 01/09/2025 20:22:59

Hi Mike. Thanks for your encouraging words. I took it from another series of my shots.   Posted: 01/10/2025 17:18:33

Another beautiful image from you that has lots of color and highlights the subject perfectly. I agree that the right ballet slipper needs work. You did a wonderful job of selecting the violinist.   Posted: 01/15/2025 19:25:02

This is a very striking image Frans. The colors are wonderful and vibrant. The mood is nice and dramatic. The light cloud of smoke in the original transferred nicely to the composite. I would very much enjoy learning more about what software you used and some of the steps you performed to create the final image. I agree that the right foot is a bit too dark, so I used the Dodge tool in PS to lighten it up. It still didn't look right, so I used the Clone tool to bring the colors from her leg (for the skin on her foot) and dress (for the slipper) at 30% opacity so that the textures of each would still be visible.   Posted: 01/17/2025 20:20:00
