About the Image(s)
I can never resist taking pictures of fireworks on the 4th of July. This year was no exception. This photo was actually red, white, and blue and totally centered. I decided to look at it in black and white and I decided I liked it. I cropped it according to the rule of thirds.

Karen, Fireworks is one of those subjects where black and white might show better and color. You have exposed beautifully, and have solid contrasts from white to black. If there was room in the frame and light lines were coming from the bottom left corner and I was cropping to rule of thirds I might have had the center show in the right upper third of the image. Just maybe because not an easy chore calculating in a fraction of a second where the lines enter the image from.   Posted: 07/08/2024 19:19:01

An interesting fireworks picture - the B&W version allows one to concentrate on the fine lines that one might miss in a colour version. At the same time, I feel that there is not enough there to make it a memorable fireworks picture for me.   Posted: 07/13/2024 02:51:13

You are right it is a big white sparkle. Not sure I would have done anything different. But I have not taken fireworks since I was using film and then I would always try to combine several different ones to increase the interest in each frame.   Posted: 07/15/2024 20:42:03

This makes a nice abstract image. I've never shot fireworks, but would like to give it a try.
