This was from a few weeks ago… I got a dozen small tulips on a Saturday, but on Sunday, they were all bent over and I thought I had lost them. Two days later, they popped back up and had some nice curves to them. The flower was set up in a small vase out of view. I used a single light with a beauty dish camera left, and a black background. The light was angled to not hit the background to keep it black.
I wanted a simple but “fine art” feel to a single tulip. Once these flowers dried, I tried some other ideas using tools to hold them. It is interesting enough, my wife just looked at it and went silent. I still do not know if she likes them or not.

Joel - Very sharp image. Black background offsets the color of the tulip nicely. I like where you cropped the stem, gives balance to the image.   Posted: 04/01/2026 13:59:11

Lovely tulip image. I would add a bit more saturation and crop it 8 x 10.   Posted: 04/08/2026 16:24:30

Hi Joel, Sharp, perfect exposure, texture you can feel, expertly balanced and delicate color. This would hang in the center of an art museum. Outstanding work.   Posted: 04/08/2026 21:43:30

I like the soft colors. It pops against the black background. The curved stem adds interest. I wouldn't change anything.   Posted: 04/12/2026 16:30:56
