About the Image(s)
One of my oldest images from 2005 and it only needed a little bit of editing, sorry no original, it was lost along the Apple Aperture, and Photoshop way. I built a small frog pond in Pittsfield NH and purchased some water plants. This Water Hyacinth was among the best flowers to come from it. ISO 400, 200mm, F4.1, and 1/500 sec. I’m thinking that it was my Nikon Coolpix or D100. I did also take some hot spots out of the background. I also processed it some time ago in some kind of image editor.

Bob, this may be a twenty year old photograph, but it still works! I love the vibrant colors of the Water Hyacinth, and the blurred background makes it stand out. Well done!
My only suggestion is a nit: I suggest slightly desaturating and darkening the background so that it the same color as the hyacinth.   Posted: 04/08/2025 00:17:30

Hi Pete. Thanks for stopping by and giving your comments. However, on my monitor the background is slightly darker than the leaves around the flower. So I sorta agree with you except I'm not seeing it. I'll have to check out your page to see if your monitor is off color.   Posted: 04/08/2025 19:31:17
Thanks Karen. You did a wonderful job with the background.   Posted: 04/13/2025 17:03:32
Hi Bob, Lots of impact here and Karen's version certainly has lots to commend it. I cannot see anything that I would recommend changing.   Posted: 04/15/2025 19:18:59
Hi Bob, I spend a lot of my time now going through old images. So much has evolved in editing, it is possible to do some nice things even to film prints. The color is beautiful. and the image is sharp. I did some cropping and removed some white spots. There are still some spectral highlights, but not too bad for what I think is a midday shot. Excellent job finding the image.

Thanks for the positive edits and comments Bob. I like the increased saturation and taking out those white spots. This was taken before I set up a file naming system so it probably was from my Nikon Coolpix or my Nikon D100. Yes, editing was really a pain back then. BTW, I do favor Karen's treatment of the green background.   Posted: 04/16/2025 01:30:46
