About the Image(s)
Peabody Library
I took this on a field trip years ago when we visited 3 churches and this fabulous library in Baltimore. The Peabody Institute is the oldest in the US and was founded in 1857. It is now part of Johns Hopkins University. It features cast iron balconies. I took it with an Olympus EM5 with 12-50mm lens. SS was 1/30, aperture f 8 and ISO 8000. As I was entering Baltimore, I realized I had forgotten my tripod!

Another beautiful architectural picture. Great colours and reasonably sharp. See a couple of edges that should be cleaned up- left and right side - likely from cropping. I think I would prefer a bit more width to further emphasize the shapes and lines - so I added a bit more canvass - see what you think.   Posted: 02/13/2025 17:06:44
Thanks for yuor suggestion. I will have to go back and re-work it.   Posted: 02/17/2025 20:23:35
Really impressive image and the warmth of artificial light works well with the cool blue grey of the balconies. To my eyes the the central columns do not look vertical, probably because of the wide angle nature of the shot. But I am not sure this can be corrected without damaging some of the beautiful horizontal lines.   Posted: 02/22/2025 09:50:27
