January 2025 - County Mayo Coast

About the Image(s)

Years ago, I took a photo trip to County Mayo in Ireland mostly because I knew the leader and it was a small group. We stayed in the same place and took day trips out while there. There is a lot of coastline and I was attracted by the green which contrasted with the rocks and water. I used an OlympusEM5 with a 14-150 lens at 40mm. SS was 4 seconds, aperture f 19 and ISO 200.

I like the contrast of textures as well as the colors. I'm surprised high tides don't wash the algae(?) out. Sounds like a fun trip!   Posted: 01/08/2025 20:22:37

Hi Judy. This is a different topic for you. I know the green attracted your eye, but my eye followed the white water thru the opening and the aqua water. The green algae might of caused you to be interested but it generally smells and does not command attention for an interesting local. Probably just above the high tide line and doesn't flush clean except for very high tides. I would of shot just the 1 photo and and played with the S turn at the waters edge   Posted: 01/10/2025 01:32:41

Beautiful sea and landscape image - Like the composition and colours that focus us on the subject. Well done.   Posted: 01/10/2025 18:55:34
