About the Image(s)

I am sending a photo from Canada! It is old, but I had to find something I wanted comments on and that was different from my usual.

Patterson Grain

This is an old picture taken on a trip where we drove an RV from the Winnebago Factory in Iowa to Anchorage. This provided an opportunity to drive the Alaska Highway and see a lot on the way. This was taken with a Nikon D70S and 18-200mm lens at 112mm. ISO was 320, aperture was f13 and SS was 1/640. I smashed a new camera in the slide out and had to buy a new one in Edmonton. It was interesting going into Alaska from Canada since I spent a lot for just a few days in Canada. I did some cloning to remove some wires and processed it in Elements, NIK and Topaz.

I really like this with the strong lines of the buildings, the vehicles to emphasise the size of the buildings and muted colors. The sky and lighting all add to the feel of the picture.   Posted: 11/08/2024 15:30:21

A classic image from the Canadian prairies - from Lang, Saskatchewan. Well captured, one of many grain handling facilities in the midwest.
Yes, Elaine, it is in fact in the middle of nowhere - very flat, and oh so important as the breadbasket of Canada.   Posted: 11/09/2024 19:11:11

Judy, I like your old image composition, scale and colors. Gunter's filling in with location info gives it more a sense of place for someone like me that has not traveled via vehicle in Canada best of Ontario.   Posted: 11/11/2024 04:17:58
