I like the solitude of your image. The color cast creates moodiness.   Posted: 10/02/2026 21:29:43

I think the simplicity tells the story. Well done. The muted colors are good.   Posted: 10/07/2026 15:51:09

good detail on the ruins and the area gives the feeling of desolation. Well done   Posted: 10/07/2026 18:38:04

Nice eye, Annmarie! What an austere, cold look and the limited color palette sure reinforces that. I especially like the way the grass is catching the highlights; that contributes a lot. I enjoy it the longer I look at it. My eyes go first to the ruins and then to the background which seems bright brighter than it really is in contrast. I end up lingering in the grass and the details of the building. It's interesting light, with the sun off left and the building showing such detail on the shadow side. Depending on the look you are after, I could see dodging the highlights in the grass and lightening some shadows in the building. Darkening the distant ridge gives it more visual weight and helps my eye stay in the foreground. I like the 90 degree angle which is seen in the building too.   Posted: 10/07/2026 21:05:58
