About the Image(s)
I love the colors of Mammoth Hot Springs. The steam coming off the springs adds to the atmosphere.
It was shot at 1/200, f10, 105mm, and ISO 200

I like the composition of this photo, each layer is interesting to look it. I would try darkening some parts of it so that the texture stands out more.   Posted: 08/06/2026 17:38:41

This is a place I want to see too, so thanks for sharing this, Debbie! I think I like the shapes as much as the colors... the way they repeat creates this cool pattern, kind of like logs or barrels on end. The steamy mist is great and softens the colors and the focus as it fades away.
The area at the top right is the brightest and captures my eye first. It looks like we are shooting into the sun a bit with the faces of the springs in shadow. I suspect there might be more detail in those which would add some more interest... using selective dodging/burning to direct attention.   Posted: 08/06/2026 21:39:31
