About the Image(s)

The Largest Lemur Sanctuary Outside Madagascar Is in North Carolina, 35 miles from my house. They do research on the lemurs especially from a hibernation perspective. I had never been there until last month. For a fee, you can schedule a “walk with the Lemurs”. The enclosure is over an acre, so it can be difficult to see the lemurs. It was harder than I expected to get a good image. This was ss320, 200mm, f2.8 and ISO 125.

Such a cute animal looking right at me! And he is well focused. The only thing I might try is to darken the green background to the left of the brown post. Otherwise it is perfect.   Posted: 08/06/2026 17:19:22

Another great image with tons of impact and appeal, Steve. It's hard to look away from the eyes but I do like the sharply focused textures on the tree and in the nicely blurred background; solid technical choices. The branch frames him perfectly and the tree balances the image. I don't even mind the out of focus bamboo?; it gives it more a sense of depth and jungle. PS can take that out for you, though. :)   Posted: 08/06/2026 20:57:20
