About the Image(s)
This month my camera club went to an indoor plant conservatory. I chose to experiment on many of my photos and with this one, I tried various f/stops and shutter speed.
Water Fall, 1/30, f/2.8. ISO 500

Nice shot, Kathy! I like the various green colors and the texture of the stone. Moving water is so fun to play with. Were you on a tripod? It looks sharpest at the top right, perhaps more depth of field would have pulled it all in to crisp focus?   Posted: 04/05/2026 17:21:07
Tripods were not allowed at the conservatory, which is why I tried many variations of shutter speeds and f/stops to see what the results were.   Posted: 04/07/2026 21:15:41
Nice shot Kathy, I like how you captured the water sharp at the top and blurs out as it goes down, showing movement.Nice light on the stone wall behind   Posted: 04/06/2026 05:19:28
This tells the story of water, wood and moss, thanks for sharing   Posted: 04/07/2026 16:27:48
Hi Kathy, Very nice picture and with the slow shutter it has stood out, only thing I am wondering how it would have looked in black & white?? just an observation although colour is adding value.   Posted: 04/08/2026 06:57:58
The dripping water and the green moss makes the image. I like the background of the old wood. Well done   Posted: 04/09/2026 14:45:01
Without a tripod, it's hard to blur water falling. Your iPhone has a work around. Shoot it "live" mode and then change it to "long exposure". Really phenomenal the phone can do that.   Posted: 04/13/2026 17:03:42
