St. Luke's Cemetary by Deb Thurlbeck

April 2026 - St. Luke's Cemetary

About the Image(s)

This photo was taken on a visit to St. Luke's Anglican Church which was
built in the 1860's and one of the oldest churches in the area.

I post processed in B&W with a sepia tone to match the era.

Nice, Deb! I think the sepia was a good choice and it simplifies the image. I've been striving for more minimal and simple compositions. My focus struggles between the two points of interest without a clear winner. I took the liberty of playing with the image to make the headstone at left take the most attention.   Posted: 04/05/2026 17:52:32

I was intrigued by the cross, for me that was my focus of the photo, interesting that you chose the headstone as the focal point   Posted: 04/08/2026 18:06:53

Very nice Deb, I like the gritty feel of the image, it adds to the aged look.Church yards are fascinating.   Posted: 04/06/2026 05:15:05

I like the composition. Also like how Michael lightened the tombstone but then the cross in the foreground is too blurry for my taste.   Posted: 04/07/2026 20:00:00

I think the image tells the story. I like the sepia finish, as it creates the old look. Well done.   Posted: 04/09/2026 14:42:55

I like that you choose Sepia tone for this image... it really helps tell the story. As others have said, thhe cross could be sharper with more background separation from thhe tree behind it.   Posted: 04/13/2026 16:57:30
