t is an Australian Hobby, taken at a local well known area for birds of prey.
I used Nikon d7000 with a sigma 170-500mm lens. F7.1, exp 1/1600
I was able to get off a few shots before he gave me this look and I knew it was time to stop and leave him be.

Such penetrating eyes! It looks super even at 200%. With that much depth of field, it makes me wonder how far away you were and focal length? I like the smooth out of focus background which really puts your attention on the subject.   Posted: 12/12/2025 21:15:33

Hi Michael, focal length was 500mm, aperture 7.1,I have cropped in a bit, but I was able to slowly inch closer than usual,which surprised me.Im not sure of the exact distance though.   Posted: 12/14/2025 14:56:35
