About the Image(s)

Another image from Thailand. I was shooting the sunset on the beach and stumbled upon the Fire Show. Since I had lost my tripod (left in a taxi) this was a difficult shoot since it was hand held. I needed a slower shutter speed to capture the sparks trail but keep the subject and background sharp. I eventually decided on 1/30, f5.0 and ISO 2000. In this image, I placed the wheelchair on the right third and the larger arc of sparks in the center. Using Photoshop, I removed a distraction in the foreground. I slightly brightened the attentive audience under the arc and applied a strong vignette to the upper half of the image in an effort to focus attention of the subject.
