About the Image(s)

This was taken at San Javier Mission when I attended the Photo Festival in September. A beautiful place built in 1797. I zeroed in on the architecture details of the building and have many views that I like. Tech Info: 1/1000, f/8, ISO 500.

The swirl and the arch are the heroes of this image and they are visually interesting. I'd suggest cropping the image closer to get rid of some the distractions that draw attention away from the subject. If the lines on the column and wall pointed to the arch, they might add, but right now they distract. I'd also try to get some more contrast out of the lights and darks in the arch and swirl.   Posted: 11/20/2024 01:41:20

Architecture is hard. The zoom of the detail works well. The focus is on the curves and lines.   Posted: 11/20/2024 20:59:38

Kathy, I, too, like architecture. I'm fascinated by the detail and the workmanship that had to go into getting that look and feel. what I do not understand is how you got a well defined pix of the mission but had a strange part of it for us to review? What happened? Weren't you able to crop out what you wanted from the original? My biggest issue with what you presented is that it is looking like it is falling over.   Posted: 11/21/2024 00:50:43

I think you were on track with zero in for details, but I agree with Joe in that the image appears to be falling over. Also , there is a good amount of noise in the image.   Posted: 11/24/2024 06:42:49
