This image of the lead car for a Boy Scout Troop, as part of a Labor Day Parade. Following the car are the scouts and their families. Shot with a Sony 7a with a 24 - 105 mm lens. Settings 1/125, f8.0, 79mm and ISO 100.
Post processing included cropping, tonal adjustments in Lightroom, and removal of distractions in Photoshop.

Fun parade picture with great detail. I am confused that it is a Labor Day photo in July. Is this a Kensington thing? In terms of composition, I might take out the people on the sidewalk on the top left of the frame. I find them distracting and takes away from the strong diagonal of the car and the followers. The July date in the title is my mistake. This is really from last Labor Day.

What a fun image. I would have probably removed the three people on the left of the image. I also want to be able to ride in the car; I spent enough parades walking in front or behind my scout troop. These leaders have it figured out. Posted: 07/10/2026 12:33:38
