About the Image(s)

Happy Spring to everyone! This rose was cut on 3-21-26 by my son and daughter-in-law. On the 23rd, I decided to take a (another) picture of it. My daughter walked in; used her jacket for the BG. Used regular light over the dinning table plus flash on cell camera. Opened in APS-CS6; resized, used shadows/highlight and framed.

Lovely photograph with good lighting. I especially like the red, the pink and the green combination.   Posted: 04/01/2026 12:35:24

wonderful capture with great focus throughout. I wish the rightmost pedal wasn't cut off though.   Posted: 04/11/2026 11:24:41

Jeremy, thank you for your comments. I didn't notice the cut off on the right side until after I posted it.   Posted: 04/12/2026 16:20:14

The strong shapes and details of the rose are shown well by the deep depth of focus, and the lighting is appropriate - the balance of flash and ambient is not obvious (i.e. good!).

The intense red background contrasts with the delicate hues of the rose, which works well, and the splash of green from the leaves adds something too I think.   Posted: 04/12/2026 07:50:02

Everything they all said! And your depth of focus allows even the background fabric to be identifiable -- I would guess as something knitted like a fine soft sweater. Overall these details render this a wonderful presentation.   Posted: 04/12/2026 19:04:29
