About the Image(s)
Playing with my food again! I was trying to get the entire orange peeled without detaching it from the skin. Once I had done it, I got the idea to invert it without separating it. And here is what happened. Grabbed my iPhone and took a few different angles??”liked this one best. Settings (chosen by the iPhone) were focal length 3.9mm, ISO 32, f/1.8, 1/120 sec. In Photoshop I cropped, blurred the background, cloned out a light reflection on the plate, then saved for web. Then I enjoyed the orange ??” hope you enjoy the picture.

Great shot. I've heard it said that two oranges a day will make your skin look 10 years younger. I like what you did with background blur and I love the detail in the orange itself. The only thing I could suggest (minor) is do it again and use a plain white plate. The plate calls too much attention away from the orange in my opinion. I do like the contours of the plate itself. Well done all around.   Posted: 04/09/2025 13:37:21
Audrey, neat idea. Good detail in the orange and the peeling.
B/G blur works well to maker the subject stand out more.   Posted: 04/13/2025 20:39:07

Very creative image. The composition, colors, and sharpness are excellent. I agree with Bollin that the pattern on the plate is a bit of a distraction. I wonder if you could select on PS and use generative fill to remove it.   Posted: 04/19/2025 13:36:30
I totally agree the pattern on the plate is a bit distracting. But, I was just trying to prove I could get the entire orange peeled without disconnecting it, and then wondered if it could be inverted. I set it down on my plate and grabbed my iPhone because it made me smile. If I were ever hired as a food stylist, I would have to learn how to use AI to fix it -- or just pick a different plate :)   Posted: 04/19/2025 14:39:56
