Bollin, this is an amazing shot! It reminded me of abstract painting at first glance. Upon closer inspection, I realized what it is. Very creative and beautiful picture. Love the way the frozen water wrapped around the tree branch. Thank you for sharing it!   Posted: 03/11/2025 23:59:01

Bollin, this image shows that there are interesting things in cold weather! Colors are strong. The ice encasing the plant is well done.   Posted: 03/14/2025 10:07:25

I like the composition and the contrast between the brown stick and the gray/black of the background. The image made me stop and study it. You could play with a brown color point adjustment to see if a brighter color of the stick may look better.   Posted: 03/19/2025 14:00:44

The ice surrounding the branches is captured very well. The reduced colour palette of browns, reds and greys is very effective.

The aperture used adds depth to the image, which helps concentrate on the main subject.

You might try to add a very subtle vignette, and/or bring the whites up slightly to give a lift to the ice highlights - but the image is fine as it is!   Posted: 03/21/2025 08:54:53

At first I saw this as a flat capture of a stick lying on the ground. Then I looked up the plant, and realized it was a capture of a scene of ice-coated foliage. The depth of field confirms that as well. Nicely seen and well captured!   Posted: 03/23/2025 19:49:40
