The image is entitled 'Fokker D VII' - which is what it is!

f/7.1, 1/400s, ISO100, 440mm
I would have liked to use a slower shutter speed to get more prop blur, but the thing was moving very fast (which is why this was one of the better German aeroplanes of WWI).
I converted to mono to give it a more 'vintage' feel, and to bring out a bit more of the clouds I used an orange filter whilst doing so.

Just wow! I am transported back in time. The detail in the Fokker and the pilot's face is superb. There is enough blur in the propellor to give a sense of speed. And those clouds...the perfect backdrop. Where were you when you took this? Posted: 03/11/2025 12:04:24
