About the Image(s)

Moab UT was one of the first places I visited after the height of the covid pandemic in 2021. This shot was taken on a hike to Fisher Towers during that trip. The sky was clear blue and not very interesting; a recent shot of the sky after a storm was layered behind the original image. White balance adjustments were made in an attempt to match the tones.

Richard - I love the sky replacement and it definitely adds depth and dimension to the image. I really like how the coral/pink tones of the rocks are also similar to those in the sky. Great job!   Posted: 07/16/2024 15:30:01

Adding skies to an image isn't the easiest thing to do, but you have matched both very well...   Posted: 07/25/2024 20:26:46

Post processing definitely makes this photo! The light adjustments to the rocks makes all the difference. The sky replacement makes a big improvement also. I like the diagonal line of the tree that takes your eye right into the photo. Very nicely done.   Posted: 07/26/2024 23:37:31

Thanks, it's amazing what a nice sky can do to an otherwise mediocre shot. By the way the sky shot was done with a drone at 400 ft after a storm here in NJ a few weeks ago.   Posted: 07/28/2024 23:52:41

Thanks, the tree (the dead one on left) is what caught my eye to take the shot.   Posted: 07/28/2024 23:54:29

Richard, Yes, the dramatic sky works well. I loved visiting Mohab. I Went with a PSA group for three days when they advertised, they had two open spaces. I flew to Las Vegas and caught a ride with a Lovely, couple from AZ also traveling to Mohab.   Posted: 07/31/2024 14:27:19
