August 2026 - Hummingbird
About the Image(s)
The hummingbirds are always one of my biggest photography challenges each year. I was able to spend a morning photographing them in our local Butterfly Garden, where they seemed to be everywhere. Their incredible speed and unpredictable movements make them a true test of both patience and technique.
I think I get a little better each year, although I still have a long way to go. This was my favorite image from the morning.

Julia - beautiful capture of the hummingbird going in for some nectar! Excellent composition, sharpness and know how difficult it is to stop motion on such a fast-moving subject.
