About the Image(s)
"Vastness of the Dunes" from White Sands National Park in New Mexico. The image was captured on May 1, 2025 using Canon 5D Mark IV F16, 1/125, 100 ISO, at 168mm (Canon 70-200 mm lens). I'm including the original photo and note that I cropped the image, modified to black & white, and used some layers to "dodge/burn" the image to create more depth using Lightroom and Photoshop.
I invite comments about whether viewers like seeing the person walking her dog or would prefer a shot without people as well as any suggestions to improve the image.

Usually I'm not a fan of pure white sky but it this case it adds balance to the white sand below. The person provides a central point of interest. I'm not sure if the image would be better if the bottom foreground was cropped. All in all a very good image. Posted: 12/10/2025 15:53:16
