About the Image(s)
During my trip with my photography club to the Smoky Mountains, I spent time with a friend who photographs trains. We "chased" the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad by heading ahead of the train to a location to photograph it as it approached us. We then jumped in the car and drove to the next location ahead of the train to photograph it again. We did this at 5 different locations. A new experience for me. Early morning was still foggy and this was the first location and one of my favorite photos of the trip.

Hi Julia - sounds like a fun photo outing to chase the trains at various places in the Smokies! I really like your image and Oleg raises a valid point. Since you don't have much interest in the sky area, I think you could crop from the top and have the train and bridge take up closer to 2/3 of the image.
Good job positioning the tracks at the lower left of the frame and catching the train at just the right moment.   Posted: 12/14/2025 16:46:02
